FAQs (Frequently asked questions)
Will my child have to share a computer with other FunTechsters?
Each camper will have a dedicated computer. We encourage collaboration, but a child will always have a computer of his or her own.
What kind of computers and software do you use in your courses?
We use state-of-the-art, networked computers (less than 2 years old) and the latest version of whatever software is being used on the course.
How do you balance classroom time and break time?
We recognise that kids need to move! Your child can expect about 1 hour 50 minutes a day in the classroom with a short, ten minute break. We will provide your child with a drink and a snack, a mixture of fruit and a cereal bar.
Where do I pick up and drop off my child?
You can drop off your child on the High Street and watch them walk up the stairs to our school. A map is included on the Contact Details page of our website (use the drop-down menu at the top left of our home page).
Can I drop off my child early and pick him up late each day?
As long as you inform us before hand we may be able to look after a child until the next groups are in, but there is a maximum of half an hour in between camps.
What does my child need to bring?
Themselves! We provide the drink and snack. They may bring extra water or a notepad with them if they want to.
What risk management precautions do you take to ensure the safety of my child?
We protect your children like they were our own. That is our pledge to you. All staff are CRB checked and vetted. We require our staff to undergo thorough risk management and emergency procedures training. All our computers are protected with strict internet content filtering software.
What if my child has a medical emergency?
Staff are first aid and CPR certified, so we are equipped to handle minor injuries ourselves. Be assured that we will treat your children with the same care and concern as we do our very own. Parents will be notified immediately should sickness or injury occur. Please ensure that you make us aware of any medical conditions at the start of your child's course, as well as providing us with your mobile numbers.
Can I visit my child at FunTech?
Of course you can! In fact, we encourage you to come on Friday afternoon, the last day of the course, in order to view what your child has learnt. Please arrive 20 minutes early.
